Founder Story

“I believe culture is living. Healing is relational. Land is a teacher. Through education, ceremony, wellness, stewardship, and intergenerational learning, this foundation exists to nurture resilience, remembrance, and a way forward grounded in ancestral wisdom. When we invest in culture, healing, and land, we invest in the strength of future generations.”

Kumu Anna Lisa

Kumu Hula Anna Liza Kalauokekupukupu Abuan McKeon is the founder of Na Liko Kupukupu O Ka Aina Foundation, Inc. and a devoted cultural practitioner, teacher, and steward of ancestral knowledge. With over twenty years of experience in hula and earth-based healing traditions, her work is rooted in the preservation, protection, and perpetuation of traditional Hawaiian culture, Indigenous knowledge systems, and land-based ways of living.

Formally trained under Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, a master of ancient traditional hula, she was entrusted with the blessing to teach the sacred songs and dances of this lineage. She now guides hālau in Hesperia, Topanga, and Crestline, carrying forward ʻike kūpuna through disciplined practice, ceremony, and deep cultural responsibility.

Her path of learning also includes sacred plant medicine, ancestral herbalism, and earth-centered healing traditions through study with Sage L. Maurer and Marysia Miernowska. Grounded in both Hawaiian cultural practice and the Wise Woman tradition, she weaves together hula, chant, plant wisdom, healing arts, and embodied ceremony in service to community, remembrance, and right relationship with the land.

Through Na Liko Kupukupu O Ka Aina Foundation, she brings these lineages into living practice through cultural education, wellness, environmental stewardship, and intergenerational teaching, nurturing a future rooted in respect, resilience, and ancestral continuity.

Serving the Inland Empire and throughout Southern California, Nina approaches every transaction with sincerity, transparency, and a genuine desire to see her clients thrive.

Nina’s story is also one of perseverance and determination. Born in Tahiti, she came to the United States as an immigrant and spent more than two decades pursuing her dream of becoming a U.S. citizen. In 2025, that dream became a reality. Her journey has shaped the way she serves others—with gratitude, resilience, and a deep understanding of what it means to build a life and legacy in a new land.

An accomplished and forward-thinking real estate broker, Nina is distinguished by her “Beyond the Sale” philosophy. Her vision goes beyond simply helping people succeed. Inspired by the principle of teaching others to become leaders, Nina often shares her philosophy:

“It’s not enough to teach a person how to fish. My vision is to help people become fishermen who then go out and find and teach other fishermen.”

Driven by passion, purpose, and continual growth, Nina stays ahead of evolving market trends while rooting her work in integrity and faith. Her mission is simple yet powerful: to rise with strength, illuminate with purpose, and serve with excellence.

Whether supporting a family finding their forever home, mentoring others toward financial independence, or helping a student receive a backpack for the school year, Nina leads with heart, hope, and a steadfast commitment to being a light wherever she is called.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

— Matthew 5:14–16
